The Blue Meanies actually shared a stage with Sir Paul McCartney at the Liverpool Empire theatre to celebrate George Harrison's birthday, three months after George passed away. This event was a fundraiser for Macmillan cancer charity. Paul met the band and spoke to Jimmy about all of the old social clubs The Beatles performed in, as The Blue Meanies were playing the same venues.
The Blue Meanies toured all over Europe, and England.
In 2012 Jimmy along with his brother Tony formed the band The Cavern Club Beatles who sell out shows three times a week at the famous Cavern Club in Liverpool. The Cavern Club Beatles have performed in New York and Miami, in conjunction with Liverpool city Council, to celebrate 50 years to the day the Beatles first landed in America. The Cavern Club Beatles played exactly the same venues as the Beatles did.
John Lennon's sister Julia who is also a Cavern director , was part of this launch. In 2013 Jimmy took a two month break from The Cavern Club to perform on one of his dream venue's in "BROADWAY, NEW YORK!!!!" He was cast to be part of The Beatles musical "LET IT BE" at the St. James theatre, on Times Square. Just when Jimmy thought this was his greatest achievement playing John Lennon it was actually eclipsed as he won a worldwide audition as the closet sounding John Lennon impersonator.
The show which was titled "THE SESSION'S AT ABBEY ROAD!" This was a unique Beatles show where a replica detail for detail Abbey Road Studios was placed in the middle of an arena. The idea was that the audience were a fly on the wall watching the Beatles recording sessions. This was the biggest Beatles tribute show to date. Jimmy was proud he won the audition and the judge was the actual legendary Beatles producer, Geoff Emerick. This show performed at arenas such as: The Echo Arena, Dublin Arena, Belfast Arena, Brighton Arena and last but not least...THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL!!!!!!!
Jimmy continues today in the ever expanding Cavern Club Beatles Band and was recently chosen to be on prime time television on a show hosted by PADDY McGUINESS called EVEN BETTER THAN THE REAL THING on BBC1. He looks forward to the success of his album WATERLOO KEY which has had huge airplay in England, Ireland and America. His first single Outside my window was recently played to 5 million people on the Rodney Bingenheimer show on Syrus radio in America.
